Apex Homecare & Disability Services Inc. ("Apex", "we", "our", "us") is an Alberta corporation providing home care, disability support, private nursing, respite, dementia and palliative care services across Calgary and surrounding communities. We are bound by Alberta's Health Information Act ("HIA") in our role as an information custodian for our clients' health information, and by Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act ("PIPA") for the personal information we collect from website visitors, prospects, employees, and contractors.

We do not sell or rent your personal or health information. We do not use your information for marketing communications without your express consent.
We obtain your written consent before collecting health information beyond what is needed to respond to an initial inquiry. You may withdraw consent at any time, subject to legal and contractual restrictions and reasonable notice — by contacting our Privacy Officer (see Section 12). Your information is stored on encrypted, access-controlled systems hosted within Canada wherever practicable. Paper records are kept in locked storage at our office. Access is limited to staff who need it to do their job. We use multi-factor authentication, audit logs, and routine staff training to maintain a strong privacy posture.
We retain client health records for the period required by Alberta law and our professional regulator (currently a minimum of ten years from the last date of service for adult clients, and longer for clients who were minors at the time of service). Once retention requirements expire, records are securely destroyed.
